Sc & Math Week Activity~BioTech Talk

...Oh my.....girls were over excited with the presence of 1 young guy, Salehuddin plus 2 young ladies , Miss Ong and Elina from BioTech Corp on Wednesday~ to give a TAlk on career opportunities in Biotechnology!

Eventhough it was held in a packed- sardine- liked School Hall at that hour!!(3.30-5.00 pm)..students were excited to listen to their energetic presentation.....Salehudin for instance, has caught girls attention with his look! and his fluency in delivering the Talk.....(..Ex MRSM student, pursued Degree in Biotech @ New York.....no wonder!!)
...and the Talk ended up with 'Bingo' Genetic game which was indeed interesting!

Compliments to the three of them who managed the crowd well...eventhough it seemed that it was the first time that they delivered such a Talk ( since they are a new members of BioTech Corporation staff.)

The counselors: Siti Zaharah, Narini, Bio teachers: Liza and me were there observing the programme which lasted at about 5.30pm...

...Hope the Talk benefits the girls! ..and has created the awareness of the opportunities in various BioTechnology fields

Ice breaking~Biology

When I was teaching about homeostasis some of the girls of 5 Bakerara were almost dozz off...maybe due to too much facts and too much TALK....adding to it: the warm weather..so inconducive....during the worst part of the day.....between 1-2 pm.....

Looking at their 'states', if I were to continue talking and 'preaching' I dont think it is worth even a cent!! So....I thought of one activity...which I experienced it @ Majlis Suai kenal Guru Cemerlang WPKL recently~ the activity was supposed to be an 'ice breaking' and was conducted by the caounselor!!

It goes like this:

Stand up..Put your right hand up and start writing your name on air, word by word...
Next: Put your left hand up and write your name on air, word by word..

Next: Use your NOSE to write your name on air

Next: Take a piece of paper, use your right hand to hold the paper close to your forehead, take a pencil and write down your name on it...word my word

Next: Repeat by using your left hand too.....

...Wow...chaotic..For about 10 minutes, all of them were struggling to write down their names...with all of the above methods....

...Sedar2 masa P&P pun tamat....

Conclusion: As a teacher, we must be sensitive to students 'STATE' in the classroom...Have fun once a while if you find them so sleepy..or couldnt focus anymore....As a result: Students are happy...and teachers too....

Majlis Anugerah Cemerlang@seseri Part I

Congratulation to all the high achievers in the 2009 SPM examination..whom finally received their award @SESERI tis morning.....Looking at them with their parents tagging along....how beautiful the scenes was........and I'm truly happy and proud of them....Even if it was only a small contribution from my part~~~~Teaching them Biology almost 2 years...

.....Teaching them, particularly their batch (they called themselves Valiants) indeed was wonderful......just like other previous batches!.......year in year out, teach...teach...teach.....in the end ,they leave us (teachers)..but..... they are always in our memory.....

...and the girls are always lovable and fun to me...forever!.....and I dont even feel that I grow older...being surrounded with these girls...most of my life!!....

Thank you to Sofya: for ur box of chocolate ;), Anis for ur nice brooch (u know i like wearing brooch!)...thank you Atikah Ramli: for ur red tudung..(it will surely match with my kurung!)..TQ GIRLS..I like ur gift!!!....Always love all of you....that bring shine to my life!

..and the best part of all is: Anugerah Panitia Cemerlang: Panitia Biologi/Biology Department........(together with few other panitia/departments)....oleh sekolah kerana mendapat Tempat ke 8 dalam kalangan semua Sekolah Berasrama Penuh seluruh Malaysia...Yes..Yes...Yes...

...I, Liza, Siti and Arifah....the happiest day in our life!...Rasa hilang sementara semua penat lelah...sangat puas rasanya...Bukan senang nak dapat Top 10 ni...especially when Biology is concerned.....The killer subject!...Kadang-kadang pening memikirkan nak mengajar kaedah apa lagi supaya students boleh ingat, and able to produce back the facts.....during examination!...But...looking back, we got confused too.....program manakah (to be exact) yg menyebabkan kenaikan ranking dan Gred purata tu...

Finally...the conclusion is: Each of the programme did contribute......Students were highly motivated..teachers as well...and.....the best teamwork too.........the sharing and caring....the persistence...the perseverance......both teachers and students...finally lead to success...

..Thanks God for the success....and hopefully we will repeat the history in SPM 2010...

.....if not better, the same rank would just be fine!

Karnival Showcase Reka cipta &Inovasi@Perlis

Well...at last all the four girls left for SM Sains Tunku Syed Putra in Perlis for the competition.....from 22nd-25th April 2010 ..together with Eliz to accompany..It has been a month and a half , I was preparing them for the competition...It was really a test of patience and time consuming...I hv put all my heart into it as a teacher advisor....and I hope it will be fruiful...at least to be shortlisted. wld be just fine...

...With the title: Kaffir Lime leaves (daun limau purut) extract as a potential sanitizer, (Daun limau purut is anti microbial..) it was indeed an interesting findings observed in Bio Lab...There's no doubt ..how interesting it is to do scientific investigation or research...but....knowing Malaysian syllabus which is so tight& packed with subject contents...blame them for producing students who r not innovative and creative...

..This time, Rabi'ah, Syaza, two Izzati were so lucky to be able to represent seseri for the competition..As for Syaza and Rabi'ah, most of the days they spent with me to plan and carry out the investigation...We even went to UM to get all the procedures captured at the proper place... ...and today they r judged by the panel judges there..and Im here praying so that at least they get a place...Girls: Go GO Chaiyok...

My biziness Weeks..

..After coming back from Symposium ...the next day.. I was attending Workshop ~ 'Cultivating Personal and Professional excellence ' @ KDU ...It was a one day workshop with two speakers from KDU conducting ..and it was fully sponsored by them.....It was an interesting event but I didnt have time to snap photos for sharing...coz I was deeply involved with the activities....It was a refresher and kinda motivating me and my other fellows Guru cemerlang....Kudos...to KDU..It was FUN..

Back to school I quickly write reports a.k.a. Minit Curai..(Each time when I was out for 'events', I must make sure to write reports so that I can keep it as my future reference of all activities and programmes I've ever attended...)..Up till now, I have 4 reports already which are signed and certified by my Principal and its total up to 9 days of LDP (Latihan Dalam perkhidmatan )...The requirement is only 7 days per year!!!...meaning that I've more than fulfilled the requirements for LDP...

The following week started with 'sukan tara,...the whole week! until Saturday when the school sports day was held....Again..On the sports Day, I was buzy focussing on the event, so no photos to be shared here too....and the sports Day started and ended beautifully~

Since the sports Day was held on Saturday, we wr not entitled for cuti on monday...as a result...on Monday..most of the girls wre not yet recovering from the pains and aches!!...and teachers too.....(~_^)

...Ans that week I was packed with tasks~preparing surat jemputan untuk TPP, Ketua Nazir,Nazir penyelaras Nazir...to attend our Majlis Suai kenal and Mesyuarat Agung Guru cemerlang WPKL which is to be held on the 15th April @ JPWP...preparing Surat sponsor, then faxed to various publishers and coy to get 'goody bags', or anything...to give out for 200 participants on that day!!...and preparing a set of forecast SPM papers to Cerdik publications...due on the 5th...preparing 2 Qs for SBP Trial...due on the 7th...,then preparing for Petanque competition which is due on the 10th....preparing materials and writing up for pertandingan inovasi and rekacipta SBP ...due on the 22nd-25th...And ...conducting bengkel Kecemerlangan Panitia Biologi @ school from 830 to 1.00pm on saturday 10th.....

huhhhhh...one week after another...it is so fast..I hardly breath!..no cooking@home.....all neglected....

...On 12th, another AJK GC meeting is in the morning and test run @ Audi JPWP...for the event of Majlis Suai kenal GC on the 15th...

...and the last week of this month is declared to be School Science and Math Week...meaning that it demands activities related to it...again.....another task awaiting!!...Pendekkan cerita: ...Tugas yang tak pernah berakhir...selagi ada hayat di badan ini...

...Looks like this month is going to be ended swiftly...
