Shooting for EDUWeb TV @Bio Lab SESERI

...Well..its kinda fun for the girls and its interesting for me to encounter such an experience...Simple shoot but sweet...

..And the preparation took abt two days...getting the apparatus ready and upgrading materials in the Lab....with Hisham and Ilah lending helping hands....And I still choose the chapter 'Transport' to share the best teaching technique with fellow teachers all over Malaysia...This is partly bcoz students wre already well versed abt the chapter, so it is easier to act and the show will be smoother...

....The idea of everybodys wearing Lab coat for the shooting indeed have excite the students like electrons in chlorophyll excited bt the light energy from the sun!!

Its from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm : including the Teaching and learning process, class activities and interview...from Bio Lab to teachers Room.. Three students were interviewed: Izzliena, Syafaf and Midhtra....and the principal Pn Jamilah, Pn Zu the Senior Assistant and Liza were interviewed too.....

...Thanks to 5 Adioda girls who have performed well and its very impressive....While 5 Bakerara took part in T&L process demonstrated to ICSEI delegates recently, I have reason to choose 5 Adioda girls next....
...and other classes might have chance too...depends on their performance in Biology..

And the documentary will be aired sometime in February...via http://www.eduweb.tv.com.my/
..Patiently waiting...

A visit by delegates of ICSEI

Welcome to the 23rd International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement Conference delegates to our school...Sekolah Menengah Sains Seri Puteri a.k.a.SESERI
It was on the 8th January but I couldnt write a report earlier because I was waiting for more photographs from Zam...(he was the camera man for that day!)...It was a bus of visitors..comprised of representatives from: Denmark, Australia, Oman, Phillipines, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong....

...and I was suppose to do a mock lesson~ the teaching of Biology..whereas Saadah was doing it for chemistry..
The 5 Bakerara girls were very cooperative and excited to contribute~ to uphold the school image!
It just happened that I was teaching the first chapter involving Transport and blood circulatory system...so it was not so much a problem for a lesson to be carried out..

...and it was successful... Delegate from Denmark is signing BIO Lab Guest Book..
Delegates @ Chemistry Lab

The participants- 5 Bakerara

Prof Dr King from Hong Kong...share the same passion for Biology..

Delegates@ Biology Lab..
..Thank you to Ilah and Sham for the assistance to make the event successful...and to 5 Bakerara girls too...and to Ahmad Haridan...the photographer..

My girls are well fed

....those days, the thought of menu at boarding school hostels is all about nasi kawah...mass cooking... as a result the nutrient, the taste ...are out of expectation...But...gone are the days where food became such a complaint...

...On Tuesday, I was together with Ms Sa'adah (teacher on duty) , Ms Sabariah and Ms Principal went to Dining Hall (SESERIan call it Dewan Makan Graha Puri)...having lunch!

..For teachers of SESERI, the rule is that ..whoever is a teacher on duty for the day, you have to have lunch at the dining hall and give report on the menu...and the lunch is...... FOC..ahaks!!!

This yer we have a new DM operater...and my first impression is .....not bad!
(Boleh pergi makan lagi...)

A start of the year 2010

After about a months break.... school resumes, Another chapter starts again...
...and this year I have 4 classes of form 5 + a class of Form 4 to take care of.
..and the form fours have not registered yet...but the form five has started lessons...

For the first week, the usual chapter learnt in Bio is of course TRANSPORT...and having all a new set of students (bcoz i didnt teach them when they were in form 4)...it seems that I have homework to do (that is memorising their names..uhuhuh...)

I'm using teaching courseware to show animation which involve blood flows and the pumping of heart. Apart from that they are given the opportunity to 'hands-on' with stethoscope, microscope and sphygmomanometer in Bio Lab....and the exploring of the heart models and the electronic model of blood circulation ......All in one-- has helped them to get a better understanding of the Blood Circulatory System..

They are using digital sphygmomanometer to record their blood pressure (normal is 120/80 mmHg) .I didnt encounter any problem to demonstrate it because in each class I taught, there were at least 3-4 girls who are familiar with the app..bcoz their parents have it at home...
