And the introduction was good...It was done in the school ‘Pusat Sumber’..to reach there I have to take ‘lift’ bcoz it is located at the 5th floor...So gud to have ‘lift’ in school...At SESERI i wish we have an ‘escalator’ to go up to 5 Adioda and 5 Bakerara....(Too much!!!)
Not so much of a scene.....some of the students wearing masks..which was good>>..at least there was awareness among the students about the prevention against the pandemic...
The rest......let the photos published tell..
Friday 14th :

Aimi..Questions & Answers

Question 1:

The blood group of the child is determined by both of the parents....The child’s blood group is not necessarily the same like her/his mother...nor always the same as her/his father...because there will be a combinations of both genes...

The possibilities will be as follows:

· Mother / Father of Blood Group A: Could possibly has the genotype of AA or AO
· Mother / Father of Blood Group B: ...the genotype can be BB or BO
· Mother /Father of Blood Group AB...the genotype can be only AB (bcoz both A and B are dominant)
· Mother/Father of Blood Group O...The genotype can only be OO (bcoz O are recessive. )

SO....blood group of the children could possibly not be the same like their mothers IF:

The fathers genotypes are BOTH dominant (in other words AA or BB) and the mothers genotypes are either heterozygous (AO or BO ) or homozygous recessive ( OO).

Example: Father AA X Mother BO/mother OO ...No children Blood Group B or O like their mother.
or
Father BB mother AO/mother OO.. No children Blood Group A or O like their mother....
Reason: The father carries BOTH dominant genes!!!

Question 2:

There are many factors which could cause miscarriage....
Such as Auto-immune disorders, diabetes, epilepsy, high blood pressure, kidney disease or sickle cell disease.
Also include chromosomal abnormalities, gene defects, hormonal problems, infection, immunological, uterine abnormalities, chronic maternal illness and environmental hazards.
But as for Bio SPM we only deal with hormonal problems which is low progesterone levels
If too little progesterone is produced by the corpus luteum, the endometrium may not develop adequately to sustain the pregnancy. However, low progesterone levels in early pregnancy usually reflects a pregnancy that has already failed
.
Any severe infection such as rubella, can also cause miscarriage.

Question 3:
When pregnant, the levels of hCG --Human chorionic gonadotropin (hormone secreted during pregnancy) is secreted in your urine.
(hCG) is a glycopeptide hormone produced by the placenta during pregnancy. The appearance and rapid increase in the concentration of hCG in the mother's urine makes it a good marker for confirming pregnancy.
That hormone can be detected by using Urine Test which is a chromatographic immunoassay

Question 4:
Tubal ligation is a permanent form of female sterilization, in which the fallopian tubes are severed and sealed or "pinched shut", in order to prevent fertilization.

Hormone production, libido, and the menstrual cycle can be affected by a tubal ligation.[1]
A tubal ligation is approximately 99% effective in the first year following the procedure. In the following years the effectiveness may be reduced slightly since the fallopian tubes can, in some cases, reform or reconnect which can cause unwanted pregnancy.
Many younger women who have had tubal ligation surgery have issues with their menstrual cycle afterwards. These problems may be caused by improper blood flow to the ovaries after the surgery. Sometimes blood vessels get "nicked" during the surgery. These problems can be very inconvenient - even painful.

Well...I hope I have answered to your Questions......

MTD Versus SMKAB

...Within one week I have two audience...first was: MTD =Maktab Tentera Diraja also known as RMC (Royal Military College)..I prefer it to be known as RMC bcoz it sounds more bombastic and potrays a well disciplined college,....yielding high quality students in all aspects.....a future nation leaders..
Going to MTD again this year.....and it was my third time starting 2007..When I was invited for a Talk by Major CTF, I hardly find an appropriate date to fix for the Talk..because most of my free dates were already booked by other schools and of course some were allocated for meetings...But, finally I managed to squeeze it on the 7th August.
Well...looking at the boys with their military uniforms make me feel great to be with this special bunch of students...who have been trained to be a well disciplined teenagers......I believed what I saw infront of me was the product of our Education system....

It was a two hour Talk..as usual...Most of the boys were attentive (Less than 4 were dozing off once or twice..).They asked questions and showed interest..one thing for sure, all of them want to score A Biology..

The gesture which make them different from other school students is their ‘salute’ when they greet the teachers..
....and of course I like the way they called me ***ma’am.......dont know why..may be because its already too common that my students called me ‘cikgu’ and ‘ teacher’...and even ‘sifu’...

***Madam, Madame, ma'am, or Mme is a title for a woman. It is derived from the French madame , the equivalent of Mrs. or Ms., and literally signifying "my lady."
Ma'am" is commonly used to address female officers of the rank of
Inspector and above in British police forces and female Commissioned Officers and Warrant Officers in the British Armed Forces.
In the
United States Armed Forces and in the Canadian Armed Forces, "ma'am" is used to address female commissioned officers and Warrant Officers. U.S. Marine recruits and U.S. Air Force trainees also address female non-commissioned officers as "ma'am."
......So...no wonder they address me as ‘ma’am’........

MTD Boys.....(Elias.. ) All the best in your SPM...Score A -Biology..I pray for ur success...Malaysian Future leaders!!!

...Second: I went to SMKAB= Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Aminuddin Baki....One of the ‘Cluster School’ in Malaysia..This time it is mixed..Boys and girls..Malays, Chinese, Indians...With greater percent are Malays...
And the Talk was focusing on both papers : paper 2 and Paper 3....It lasted for 2 hours also....by then, tekak pun sakit........I didn’t leave them my email add and my blogspot address like I did to MTD boys...may be because they looked a bit cold to me.......MTD boys are warmer ...( betul ke elias?)

Anyway, at last I managed to fulfil their teachers’ wish to have me there to share last minutes tips and guidance as how to go about answering Biology in their coming SPM Examination....a few months from now..I sincerely hope everybody have gained something out of the Talk.... .
...I owe another two Bio talk next week...Ughhh..**Sigh
