BioTech Education Symposium@ Le Meridien KL

..It was on monday the school resumed (after a week break) .. i got the letter requesting me to attend the Symposium..And the girls were having their Diagnostic Test, so I didnt worry much about leaving the class for that informative event!..
...I ve attended all sort of events...especially these few years back..and sort of addicted to attend the varieties: Colloquium, symposium, workshop, seminars.....out of excitement to gain knowledge...especially when it s related to my expertise...

..Just sharing the meaning of these terms:

1. Colloquium:An academic meeting or seminar usually led by a different lecturer and on a different topic at each meeting

2. Symposium: A meeting or conference for discussion of a topic, especially one in which the participants form an audience and make presentations.

3. Workshop:a.k.a.bengkel................

As for the symposium which I attended @ Le Meridien and Sheraton Imperial KL organised by BioTech Corp on the 23-24th March.. was all about Biotechnology Education. ...and the contents were packed with informations and exposure to selected Biology teachers and the school counselors (100 participants) about the biotech industries and career opportunities in the future which is very promising...

..and the issue and challenges faced by science teachers in creating students awareness about the existence and the importance of this industry in Malaysia....and Biotech Corp is given responsibility to introduce Biotech to the grassroots~ target groups are the teachers and students!

~~It is all about : Agriculture biotech, health care, pharmacist, Industrial biotech~ fermentation, bioprocessing, biofuel, microbes teaching, enzymes...and Bioinformatics..etc..etc..etc..

~Thanks to the panels: Dr Wan Abdul Rahman, chief operator of BioTech Corp, Dr Khair of MOE and Dr Haili~ for sharing knowledge in the Symposium~which was fruitful
