First CCEM in Malaysia

..It is more than 4 days that i dunnot blog..when i went to Lumut; Swiss Garden Resorts for a short break, i dragged along my ‘vaio’ , planning to blog and share moments from there...but...alas..i never thought such an international so-claimed 4 starred-hotel , firstly: charged its wifi net, secondly hardly can access internet due to all sort of reasons..So i gave up..Instead, i was completing the reports on The Mid Year Examination Result of Valiant..(We call it Post Mortem)....and preparing materials for two Bio Talks scheduled end of this month...

Lumut..Not so much of a place for me..(If not bcoz to keep my hubby company, since he has sumthing on, officially there..)Otherwise, i’d rather stay home..infront of my’vaio’.....

Back home late Sunday evening..the trip took abt 4 hours...Reaching KL ..in a pensive mood.....

..Starting Monday, when everyone else is back to school, i was heading to KLCC where the 17th CCEM began...And today is the second day, a nite when i could steal a bit of my time to sit and blog.....This morning the Opening ceremony of the Conference was held beautifully at the Plenary Hall of KLCC..well..one of the most prestigious conference... and launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak....
and indeed i"m lucky to be one of the delegates..representing Education Department of Wilayah Persekutuan KL...as a stakeholders...

Well, a little intro abt CCEM...(Extract from TheStar ):
The 17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers, (CCEM), a triennial event, is a platform for national leaders, education ministers, teachers and other individuals involved in education policy making and capacity building to discuss critical education elements in the Commonwealth.
The country is hosting the conference for the first time in CCEM’s 50 years of history since it was first held in Oxford, Britain in 1959.It marks the Commonwealth’s recognition of Malaysia’s success in education and overall development since Merdeka.
As many as 1,500 leaders, opinion shapers and stakeholders including youths are participating in one of the most important education-related events on the world’s calendar.
The conference will also consist of concurrently-held and individual forums of discussion for stakeholders, youth, teachers (including principals and headmasters) and vice-chancellors.
The Stakeholders Forum will give experts and opinion leaders from many sectors relevant to education a chance to air their views.The forum bring together members of the civil society, the private sector, academic and other non-state personnel involved in Commonwealth education.
Sharing of good practices, discussion on issues of concern to the teaching profession such as remuneration, gender equality and training will be addressed during the Teachers Forum.
As the host country, the conference also provide an excellent opportunity to bring together the latest innovation and thinking in education techniques from the Commonwealth.
